Manager: Kirstie Blockley
High View is a registered two to two residential children’s homes, that accommodates for young people of both genders, with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. The home is situated within easy reach of local amenities, Barnsley town centre and within close proximity to the M1 motorway.
The ethos of the home is underpinned by the organisations model of care. The staff team are committed to the young people who live at High View to ensure that they achieve their full potential. Holistic individualised child focussed packages of care are evolved for the young people in conjunction with NSCAP and all professionals who are involved with the young people. High View provides a nurturing environment which supports the young people to achieve a sense of permanency.
High View can accommodate young people of any age; however normally they are between the age of 8 and 18 years old. The admission process is robust and includes the completion of a shared living risk assessment, which allows the young people’s needs to be carefully matched with co-residents, including age, specific needs and stage of emotional development to ensure that this placement is in the best interests of all young people.
Kirstie started working for Dove in 2008. Kirstie is the Registered Manager at High View. Kirstie has gained her experience from working as a Residential Child Care Worker at Dove in a 2-2, I then went on to become deputy manager of one of the multi-occupancy homes. Kirstie has completed qualifications throughout her time at Dove and feels these have all contributed to what she has to offer as a manager, working with both the young people and the staff team. Kirstie is friendly, approachable and good at building relationships that are positive and meaningful.
