Denby House is a registered two to two residential home which accommodates young people of both genders, with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The home is situated within easy reach of local amenities, Horbury town centre and within close proximity to the M1 motorway and Wakefield town centre.
At Denby House we endeavour to ensure that a warm homely environment is created to inspire young people to feel safe and secure. The daily routine of the home is centred on the young people’s needs. We make every effort to involve young people as much as possible with the decisions around the home for example, we encourage young people to personalise their surroundings by
actively participating in choosing decoration and furnishings for the home, putting up photographs and personalising their own room.
Vicky commenced her employ with the organisation in 2003 and started in a 2:1 home dealing with very challenging behaviours. She then went on to work in a multi occupancy home as Senior Care Coordinator, which developed her confidence, and enabled her to take responsibility for the home she worked in in the absence of the manager.
Vicky has covered a variety of positions within the company, including maternity leave cover on numerous occasions. She has been given the opportunity of becoming a manager within the company due to her commitment and working her way up through the various positions she has held and applied for.
Vicky has now gained her registration for manager for Denby House on the 6th August 2020.
