Work for us

Dove Adolescent Services prides itself on being a good employer that offers fulfilling work, a supportive environment and plenty of opportunities for training and progression. This is clearly demonstrated and the conclusions of our Investors in People assessments.

However, the ‘living proof’ that matters most of all is that employees tend to stay with us. We ask our staff to make a long-term commitment to young people who urgently need their staying power, their willingness to stick by them and stick with it. Creating an environment where these individuals can build a fulfilling professional future is vital if we’re to keep our side of the bargain.

Because staff turnover is low, we recruit infrequently - however, the most common positions available are:

Registered Managers

We recruit experienced, qualified Managers and Deputy Managers who can take responsibility for the management and development of individual units and their teams. Please read our Registered Managers Job Description (PDF 152Kb) and Registered Managers Person Specification (PDF 69Kb) or our Deputy Managers Job Description (PDF 59Kb) and Deputy Managers Person Specification (PDF 462Kb) and if you feel you could make a contribution then download and complete the appropriate application form: Registered Managers Application Form (PDF 510Kb) or Deputy Managers Application Form (PDF 510Kb). You'll need to download the most recent version of Acrobat Reader (called Adobe Reader X) which will allow you to complete the form electronically. Please then save, complete in full and return it along with a photograph to: office@dovecare.co.uk

Residential Child Care Workers

This role involves working directly with young people in all aspects of their daily life. The job doesn’t require specific experience or qualifications but can develop into an enjoyable and incredibly worthwhile professional career. Please read our Residential Child Care Workers Job Description (PDF 192Kb) and Residential Child Care Workers Person Specification (PDF 58Kb) and if you feel you could make a contribution then download and complete our Residential Child Care Workers Application Form (PDF 1082Kb). You’ll need to download the most recent version of Acrobat Reader (called Adobe Reader X) which will allow you to complete the form electronically. Recruitment Policy Statement

Dove Adolescent Services aims to promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential. Dove Adolescent Services welcomes applications from diverse candidates. Criminal records will be taken into account for recruitment purposes only when the conviction is relevant. The nature of the work demands that you will be asked to disclose convictions which are 'spent' under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Having a 'spent' or 'unspent' conviction will not necessarily bar you from employment. This will depend on the circumstances and background to your offence(s).

If you have declared a criminal record and we believe this to have a bearing on the requirements of the post, we will discuss the matter with you at interview. If we do not raise the record with you it is because we have taken the view that it should not be taken into account in deciding your suitability for the post.

As Dove Adolescent Services meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, all applicants who are offered employment will be subject to a criminal record check from the Criminal Records Bureau before appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions. Any issues raised by the Criminal Records Bureau check will be clarified and discussed with the applicant as appropriate, prior to any final decision regarding employment.

If you would like to discuss what effect any conviction or any episode of misconduct you may have been involved in may have on your application, you may contact either the Unit Manager or a Director of Dove Adolescent Services, in confidence, for advice.
